On the road again. On our way to Mesa Verde National Park

Stopped in Tuba City at a Navajo museum

This museum was constructed for the 2002 Salt Lake City Winter Olympics. After the games it was dismantled and moved to the current location in Tuba City, AZ

There was also a very nice Navajo Code Talker museum in the trading post next door.

Definitely worth a visit if you happen to be driving by. You can visit them both in about an hour.

Stopped for lunch in Kayenta, AZ
The Burger King in Kayenta had a Code Talker display.
The Navajo are very proud of their Code Talkers who were instrumental in winning the war of the Pacific during WWII

Some shots along the highway.

Stopped for gas in Red Mesa. Note the price. The last gas we bought in the Mohave desert before we left California was $3.85 per gal.

Stopped at 4 corners Monument where you can stand in Arizona, New Mexico, Colorado, and Utah all at the same time.

There was a long line to take a picture on the spot. We didn't wait.

Made it to Colorado

Made it to Mesa Verde National Park

This is the visitor's center

Got there in time to get a glimps of the cliff palace before the sunset

We are staying the night at the Far View Lodge, inside the park.

Tomorrow we will see some more of Mesa Verde. Then we are off to Pagosa Springs Colorado.
